We’ve been hosting “Powerful Mornings” for a year now, and what better time to take stock than International Women’s Day?
What are our “Powerful Mornings”?
Imagine starting your day off with an extra dash of inspiration and power! The 90-minute “Powerful Morning” sessions host exciting female speakers as they share their personal success stories, challenges and lessons learned in the business world.
Our “Powerful Mornings” are an inspiring initiative by women, for women (and everyone else), that are open to all of the colleagues at Kaufland e-commerce! These 90-minute sessions take place once a quarter.
We invite company-internal as well as external speakers to share their experiences and valuable insights with us. A digital format helps us ensure that all KECs are able to attend, with an exception made for our special Women’s Day hybrid event that was streamed from the Cologne offices. Welcome to the future of networking!
What is the goal of the “Powerful Mornings”?
The topics covered at the “Powerful Mornings” are wide-ranging and always relevant – from career development and networking to work-life balance.
These are the format’s goals:
- Professional development: Practical, first-hand knowledge
- Awareness: Increasing the visibility of important topics
- Motivation & Empowerment: Inspiration from real-life role models
- Inspiration: New perspectives and food for thought
Above all, the objective is to empower women and give them the tools they need to succeed.
These four power sessions moved us in 2024:
- “Balancing Career & Family Tightrope” – An honest talk about work-life balance
What happens when three colleagues sit down for an honest talk about balancing their careers and family? It results in an authentic discussion about:
- The real challenges of everyday life
- Personal low points and how to overcome them
- The best moments and most important insights
- How Kaufland e-commerce actively supports parents
- “Cheers to Her” – Our Women’s Day special
Counting 240 participants, this was our biggest event yet! It was held as a hybrid event with KECs joining online as well as in our Cologne office! 🎉
- A keynote from Dr Sandra Bell (Executive Vice President and board member of the Viega Group) on the topic of “Just do it!”
- Our Head of HR, Franzi, offered her personal insights on the topic of gender equality
- Practical tips for women in the business world
- In-depth networking and Q&A session

- “Empowered Finances” – Money talks with impact
Featuring 80 participants, two women at the top of their game and a lot of financial wisdom:
- Maryna, our Head of Finance Operations, shared her inspiring journey from working student to manager
- Dana from the company Finanztip presented the “4-pot rule”
- Concrete strategies to combat the gender pay gap
- Practical tips for financial independence

The year ended with our Head of Data Science, Anna, opening 24 digital doors. Hidden behind them were:
