What exactly are Infrastructure and Site Reliability Engineering?

Infrastructure Engineering involves the design, implementation, and maintenance of physical and virtual systems that form the backbone of applications and services. This includes managing networks, servers, databases, and other resources to provide a stable and scalable environment.

Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) blends software development and IT operations to ensure system reliability and availability. SREs monitor performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement automation to minimize downtime and improve efficiency. Both disciplines work together to build a resilient infrastructure that meets the demands of modern applications.
