We are seeking an experienced Engineer (all genders) to join our Tech & Product Area Explore & Discover in our Shopping Experience Division and play a pivotal role in advancing our marketplace further. Explore & Discover is our most B2C focussed area and therefore, directly affects and relates to our customers having the best shopping experience possible!

Your tasks – this is what awaits you in detail 
  • As a (Staff) Full-Stack Engineer in Explore & Discover you will handle many technical dependencies independently, ensuring smooth integration and minimal conflicts
  • You continuously work on performance optimisation from a holistic perspective, identifying and addressing bottlenecks across our applications
  • Additionally, you autonomously develop and maintain complex web applications using Node.js and Vue.js. 
  • Your responsibilities include integrating and managing monitoring tools such as Datadog to ensure high performance of our systems
  • Your domain of ownership encompasses implementing reliable and scalable server-side rendering (SSR) solutions
  • Furthermore, designing, developing, and deploying microservices that are scalable, maintainable, and efficient are a critical part of your role as Staff Full-Stack Engineer
  • Finally, you provide technical guidance and support to our cross-functional teams within your area of expertise

Your profile – this is what we expect from you   
  • You have extensive experience as an Engineer and are used to solving different engineering problems with the tools and frameworks that make sense both for the problem domain and the engineering organisation
  • You have profound knowledge of our full-stack tech stack which is JavaScript & TypeScript using Node.js for our backends for frontend (BFFs) - Vue.js / Vue 3 experience is a plus
  • You are proficient in utilising monitoring tools and have substantial professional experience with tools like Datadog
  • You are highly involved in current engineering trends and microservices are a familiar concept to you
  • You have excellent communication skills, are willing to embrace our company culture and values, and enjoy working in an international, English-speaking team
  • You have a very high capacity for abstraction, analytical thinking and your actions are always based on partnership
  • You are knowledgeable about testing, debugging, and deployment techniques for web applications
  • While prior experience with A/B testing is advantageous, it is not a prerequisite - however, a keen willingness to engage with and master these tools is essential
  • Having gained experience with microfrontend infrastructure and complex architectures is a big plus
