The HR department centrally manages all people-related issues at Kaufland e-commerce. The responsibilities of our HR colleagues are very diverse. They cover all areas of HR; from recruiting and supporting employees and managers, to offboarding, and encompass both strategic and operational topics.

The structure of the department

 

The department is diverse and involves various roles, including HR Business Partners (HRBP), Recruiters, People Development Managers and Employer Branding Managers. Business Partners and Recruiters are assigned to specific departments and divided into tech and non-tech support teams, while the People Development Team works across all departments.

Recruiting at Kaufland e-commerce covers a wide range of fields and enables the selection of applicants with different skills and backgrounds. Together with the responsible department, our recruiters focus on attracting the best talent and providing a positive candidate experience. They are responsible for publishing job advertisements, pre-selecting applications and actively approaching candidates. They also conduct HR calls and interviews and support the entire selection process. In order to continuously improve the recruitment process, they regularly work on projects that optimise existing processes and develop innovative approaches.

People Development is not just about providing training, but about taking care of employee and management development as a whole and strengthening everyone’s commitment. They work on various projects, such as developing and conducting engagement surveys, the leadership development programme, or revising a company-wide feedback process. Whether it’s evaluating data, planning measures, or conducting training courses and team workshops, the People Development team works hard every day to ensure the continuous development of our employees.

Employer Branding encompasses all measures taken to strengthen the external appeal of the employer brand. This involves maintaining a professional presence on social media profiles, the career page, and other company profiles managed by Employer Branding Managers. They also maintain partnerships with universities and provide support for participation in career fairs, company runs, and other internal events.

The department aims to ensure the company’s success by selecting the right personnel and processes. Our HR colleagues identify and develop talent, retain employees, and support them throughout their time at Kaufland e-commerce. The focus is on both employees and managers. The HR team is the central interface between employees, managers, and company processes and ensures that strategic HR goals are implemented.

How the team stays in contact

 

To promote exchange between and within teams, the department has established several formats:

Weekly HR call: Once a week, all HR employees meet in a video call to exchange updates and discuss challenges.

Team weekly: Each team has weekly meetings to discuss current issues.

Coffee breaks: Informal meetings are available twice a week in a more relaxed atmosphere.

HR monthly: Once a month, there is an informal meeting for the entire department with interactive formats such as ice-breaker games and reflection questions to strengthen team spirit.
