SETTING THE PACE FOR MARKETPLACE MANAGEMENT
As the name implies, Marketplace Development is all about further developing our online marketplaces. This team’s scope of work is especially wide-ranging. Using projects, deep dives into our data and regular brainstorming sessions, the team makes sure our online marketplaces keep developing and gaining awareness.
The goal you and your team will pursue
The main goal of the Marketplace Development team is clear: further developing our online marketplaces.
This goal is achieved by developing new services and optimising processes, all of which makes the work more sustainable and pushes the growth of the online marketplaces. To do so, the team always works in close collaboration with other teams in Marketplace Management and other areas of the company, such as Tech & Product or Legal.

There are two focus areas within Marketplace Development:
Marketplace & Service Development: Here the focus is on improving our services. The team works out which services we need for our customers, sellers and partners; launches new services and makes sure that the existing features work reliably.
Marketplace & Process Development: This sub-team makes sure that all of the processes, such as in the Legal and Compliance area or for Internationalisation, function as smoothly as possible.
How your future team keeps in touch
The Marketplace Development team is in regular contact with one another, using the following formats of communication:
- Weeklies: The whole team comes together once a week to discuss issues that the teammates are working on.
- Bi-weekly meetings: Every two weeks, the team meets to share things they’ve learned and, as needed, examine new areas in depth – for example, defining new approaches and standards.
- Once a week, each team member has a one-on-one meeting with the team lead
- Further deep-dive sessions as needed
- Constant communication via chats to support each other as needed

In the Marketplace Development team, we work on exciting, challenging projects and act as a central interface between different departments – from operational teams through Legal and Finance to Tech & Product. Our work is influenced by data-based analyses and decisions, identifying potential for development and optimisation, pragmatic applications, wide-ranging stakeholder management and the desire to take the current parameters, question them and optimise them. That’s how we create new solutions and standards, and how we contribute to the continuing large-scale development of our marketplace business and the whole company.
