Our Backend Engineers are the backbone of our product. They are responsible for the business logic, processes, data, and integration with other products and partners. Every day, they face new challenges, but they appreciate the opportunity to develop their systems and write code that can handle the ever-increasing traffic while remaining open to innovative product ideas.

As part of cross-functional teams, they actively participate in the product discovery phase, generating ideas, proposing innovations through new technologies, and evaluating the technical feasibility of concepts before implementation. To future-proof the systems, they invest time in developing architecture and migrating legacy systems to microservices. They use a wide range of technologies, such as PHP and Symfony, to find the best possible solutions for the products, or, depending on the use case, they also utilize other languages like Go.

 

What is Backend Engineering?

Backend Engineering is the area of software development that focuses on server-side logic, data processing, and system architecture of applications. The tasks involve developing and maintaining the core functionalities, databases, and APIs that form the foundation of web applications and mobile apps. Backend Engineers work on optimizing the performance, scalability, and security of systems to create robust and efficient solutions capable of handling large amounts of data and complex business logic.
