Introducing our Sales team

ALWAYS ON THE LOOKOUT FOR NEW SELLERS FOR OUR KAUFLAND ONLINE MARKETPLACES

Let us give you a closer look at our Marketplace Management teams! This time it’s the Sales team’s turn. They are primarily responsible for acquiring new sellers. Keep reading to find out what it’s like to work in the Sales team.

How the Sales team is structured

Our sales team is subdivided into several sub-teams. The national team is in charge of acquiring large-scale German sellers for our online marketplace. Meanwhile, the international team is divided into smaller sub-teams: There’s a team for the Czech and Slovak markets, one for the Polish market, and an international team which takes care of seller acquisition in English-speaking areas. Alongside the Sales teams, we have a Sales Development team which is responsible for providing the Sales team with conceptual support.

The goals and tasks of the Sales team

The Sales team is responsible for attracting top sellers on a national and international level. Their goal is to identify the top sellers and get them excited about working with us in the long term. But the work isn’t over just because the seller has signed on. The team accompanies the sellers through their onboarding process and are available for the first six months to offer advice and assistance.

On a day-to-day basis, the Sales teams focus their attention on pushing our acquired sellers through the sales funnel and turning them into successful sellers on the Kaufland online marketplaces. The tools of their trade are phone, e-mail and social media channels such as LinkedIn, which they use to get in touch with potential new sellers.

How the Sales teams communicate

The Sales teams have a daily meeting every morning to get the day started. They have different agenda items on each day of the week and use this meeting to discuss any subjects that are currently impacting their work. Each team also has one-on-one discussions and team-wide weekly meetings. For everyday business, they keep in touch via chat, where they post questions, ask for support or bring up relevant information and important dates. If anybody is in need of urgent help, someone will step in right away, whether it’s via a quick Teams call or a Slack huddle.
